Award-Winning Submissions

By human nature, we all like to be recognised by our peers or the public that we are notable in our field, yet few of us get to stand above it all with industry recognition in the form of an award. Some will look at awards as a waste of time or that they are only there to serve the hierarchy, the elite of the industry. Others are more subdued and like that their company ethos is about serving the community and that ‘word of mouth’ is how their business serves. Yet those who have had the taste of industry recognition enjoy the pomp and glory, the badge of achievement, the respect from their colleagues and peers because they are ‘award-winning.’

All in all, whichever way you look at it, an award can help boost your business, it can gain you previously unnoticed recognition and it can elevate your status as an expert in your field.

At Real Copy Right, we write award submissions for both the property and building industries. We get to the depth of what aspects of your business that gives you the deepest sense of pride, we interview, we research, we qualify your point of difference and purpose that puts them in the running for the award.

Last year, we wrote the REIV award-winning submission for Woodards Camberwell, for their property ‘Rotherwood.’ It was a property with history – it had been on the Woodards rent roll since 1939 as a notable family estate of 9 apartments. There was a public interest story in it, and part of our job as copywriters was to unveil that story. There are very few properties that have had one family own it for 83 years, there are very few families who can recall how and when it was built, remembering the smallest of detail about their childhood memories in both the construction of the property and family times at the property when their aunt lived in one of the apartments for 20 years. There was also an internal feud within the family members – one believed that the property should be marketed as a legacy to their father and should be restored into quality apartments for the Camberwell elite, the other thought the land was too valuable to keep the existing property and was happy to attract developers with a love for a bulldozer. There was also one family member who had been bought out of the property, who is actually considered Melbourne royalty, Barry Humphries. But more commendable is that one company, Woodards, held onto the leasing management for that property for the entire 83 years. It won the award for Best Marketing Award for a Budget over $10,000. Digging deep to all these factors, allowed the story of Rotherwood to generated editorial coverage, plus it made it worthy of a high end advertising campaign, leading it to be the 2022 winner of the REIV Residential Marketing Award for campaigns over $10,000.
